Alliance Theatre
Who We Are
Founded in 1968 and located on the Woodruff Arts Center campus, Alliance Theatre is the leading producing theatre in the Southeast. The company received the 2007 Regional Theatre Tony Award for sustained excellence in programming, education, and community engagement. Alliance has premiered more than 80 original productions including Tony Award winners The Color Purple, Aida (Elton John & Tim Rice), and Alfred Uhry's The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Education programs reach 50,000 students annually through performance, acting classes, drama camps, and in-school initiatives. The Theatre for the Very Young program creates interactive shows for infants and toddlers.
