BlazeSports America
Who We Are
Born in 1993 as the legacy organization of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games, BlazeSports America is the longest-running legacy program of any Paralympic Games in history. BlazeSports changes the lives of youth, adults, and veterans with physical disabilities through adaptive sport and recreation. Programs include wheelchair basketball (including Atlanta's first female-only team, created by ED Dawn Churi), wheelchair football clinics, adaptive swimming, track and field, and Camp Phoenix (adaptive sports camp for youth). The 6th Annual Peachtree Paragames (June 2026) features archery, swimming, and track and field. BlazeSports alumna Bailey Moody won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Veterans programs now include PTSD support through adaptive sport.
